Black Lives Matter Cincinnati Education Committee wants to share what we have been doing to increase racial education and awareness and work to empower the youth in our surrounding communities. This forum will discuss Freedom Schools (past and present), READ After-school programs and the School to Prison pipeline initiative. It will offer an opportunity to ask questions, get some resources for your communities and children and to find a way to contribute to these initiatives through your ideas, time, and collaboration.
The conversations of injustice in our world today are growing increasingly important and not just to have with other adults, but with the youth and the future. Through the Education Committee’s initiatives, we hope to initiate these conversations and start children learning and exploring these topics and empowering them to take action at all ages, starting as young as kindergarten.
There are things that you can do to help out in the groups, but also with your own children at home and ideas that you can contribute so we can make these the most effective and empowering programs as possible. Come hear about what is going on in your communities and how to be a part of it.
